I am a Christian but I am getting demoralized as time goes by.. I believe God is creator of this reality I believe Jesus is the Son and Savior.
But
Why does he let great evil befall on his followers? I repent and pray for restoration and deliverance that he promises but it never comes. I feel like I am just constantly coping and making excuses for God. I feel like I'm abusing myself at this point. "I must have done something bad" "I must not be repenting enough" I keep trying harder but nothing happens.
Why is the nature of the afterlife and salvation so confusing? You think this would be extremely clear considering how absolutely important the salvation state of your soul is. The Bible seems to say consistently that accepting Jesus as Lord is the one time payment and you are forever in righteousness. But there are also passages that imply leaving the church would make you punishable or not doing enough (if the vine does not bear fruit it will be thrown in the fire) or "Not everyone who calls me Lord" or certain sins will "not inherit kingdom of heaven".
Why does he keep Satan around? Why didn't he just destroy him after free will was introduced? Eternal punishment is extremely disturbing and horrific to me. Even thinking about one person being tortured in hell forever makes me want to vomit. Why does he let countless people be victim to an invisible enemy? Even during revelation he lets Satan escape one last time to hurt more people.
I give my full faith and hope in his promises and goodness but feel left abandoned. If I were to just go by reality (because I feel I do not see the promises he claims) it feels like God wants you to accept Jesus then not to ask him for anything else because he can't be bothered.
