I stumbled upon this philosophy subreddit which I will not name here but anyway I have a deep and obsessive interest with philosophy and so I recently decided to start contributing to all these random little subreddits. There was a post which asked "who is considered a philosopher", and the first two posts were describing how it is the philosopher academics whose opinions matter and that everyone else is pretty much talking shit. This struck me as a particularly elitist and gatekeeping way of thinking and so I decided with the help of my good friend Plato to paraphrase what a philosopher really is which is someone who's obsessed with seeking some truth, and I detailed all the various problems that come about through academia and limit someone from really contributing anything meaningful to the field of philosophical thought (namely that it's a big circle jerk of right-thinking versus wrong thinking). Anyway, I guess my four-paragraph dissertation was not "up to standard" despite the fact that a philosophy subreddit is literally supposed to be a marketplace of goddamn ideas and I was putting forth my idea in an organized and contextualized format.
And so I decided to of course politely message the mod team the following:
(cont1) "Listen, I am no conspiracy theorist but I got to tell you something, I believe in my heart of hearts that lurking amongst this mod team is a goddamn snake in the grass. I respond to this post titled "who is considered a philosopher?" and the first paragraph of this post is literally me paraphrasing Plato's opinion on the subject. I don't know what high-and-mighty motherfucker has such hubris to delete a four paragraph dissertation for not being up to standard but I got to tell you something this individual is making your subreddit worse and he or she sucks. Listen you little pussy just because someone has an opinion that rubs against the grain of what your narrow little mind can contemplate doesn't make their opinion not up to standard. Have you briefly considered the idea that if you are confused or insulted by something which is polite and argues reasonable ideas that it is perhaps the case that you are just not well equipped to deal with the issue at hand because you're an emotional little feckless creeper. Good day to you all! May you oust this weirdo or forever enjoy your weird little elitist circle-jerk that you seem intent on perpetuating, thank you. Fuckin philosophers my ass."
With all the good grace of a 16 year old child, the mod that I was in conflict with decided to go through my entire post history and delete them all one by one. They then message me the following excuse for their abhorrent behavior:
"Make sure that your comments reflect academical material. Show your references instead of delivering what appears to be personal takes on things."

Now I would like for us all to sit in quiet contemplation at the steeped irony of someone calling out a philosophical post for not reflecting academic material when it is literally quoting the father of philosophy (Socrates in Plato's Republic). The further irony is his distinction by using the word academic and therefore implying that in his mind Plato is separate from philosophical academia. And I would like to point out one last juicy bit of irony which is an academic using acadamia to assert 'right think' and 'wrong think' over an essay that literally details this very problem. Anyway I mainly just need to get that out I don't know if anyone is going to give a shit about my petty subreddit problems but there it is for the world to see. I hope you all have a wonderful tyrant-free evening.
