It's hard to say what's going on you are having to view the lies of one propaganda machine against the lies of another propaganda machine and compare the two lies together to try to get some small amount of Truth. We will have to wait a few more months to know what really went on. Personally I do think Russia military is incompetent it's been a decade since their last military engagement that doesn't mean they won't take Ukraine though. In the end Ukraine will surrender. Even if the war wasn't fought as quickly as America's Iraq invasion with a 100 casualties Ukraine will still become Russia's bitch.

In pure Numbers yes. But the russians millitary seems to be incredibly currupt to the Point that only around 20% of their Armed forced are Combat effecacious at all. Ukraine is massively outmanned and outgunned, but russia is also incredibly incompetent. its not that hard to put together. the issues with russias military in short are the command structure, logistics, outdated equipment, low morale and poor training.

They have to assume that there could be a serious reprisal if nations decided to gang up and respond to the Ukraine conflict. To that end, they have kept all their serious firepower in reserve and only used uninformed low quality conscripts for the conflict. They also get to see what the west will actually throw at them without risking their high value assets. Really all they have to do is be willing to lose some "national guard" and be made fun of. In the mean time they might gain Crimea and Donbas and Ukraine neutrality.
It's going to happen like when the japs attacked pearl harbor to drag us in the war. I feel like something akin to that will happen and it will come completely from left field, forcing our hand with no other option but to go all in and add fresh meat for the grinder in yet another war the kikes are clamoring and frothing at the mouth for.

The reason Russia hasn't carpet bombed Ukraine is because they want the resources in there. Also if they are to annex Ukraine, they want to cause the least damage possible, to prevent instability.
You cannot afford to turn your next door neighbor into a desolate wasteland where anarchy prevails.
Just look at Iraq, it turned all its neighboring countries into shitholes, some even worse than Iraq themselves (Syria)
So Russia is trying to keep damage to a minimum to avoid having to fix that shithole. They do not want to fail like the US did in Afghanistan and Iraq. They want to keep Ukraine for future generations.
