Russia is clearly winning. Even the cities where Russia hasn't taken over are bombed out and disrupted. Russia only has to keep waiting and the Ukrainians will evaculate their families into neighboring NATO countries. That puts huge burdens on those countries' finances so Russia gets the last laugh there too.

One problem is that Russia has lots of commercial airplanes and cars from outside of Russia. So it is contemplating making counterfeit medicine, car parts, airplane parts, and those companies such as Boeing are mad mad angry at losing profitable parts sales but hey sanctions caused it.

Sanctions means copyrighted and patented items get blocked. So Russia is forced to counterfeit and of course pays no royalties for those sanctioned items.

Russia's goal is to conquer territory and control it. They've failed. "Disruption" was not the goal, command of the zone ie destruction of all hostile forces was. So this is, by definition, defeat. As for NATO evacuations, it doesn't hurt their finances because Germany and America have already decided to pay for it increasing taxes if necessary. Germany has gone so far to cut off all future Russian gas contracts, and remove themselves from their economy. This is economic defeat, in addition to the military defeat.

Doing this would isolate Russia further by permanent banning them from any future western investment. Not even China does this, it's why the deal between Boeing and Comac was done because China doesn't want to have Boeing accuse them of IP theft, which would lead to the west not trading with China. It's also why China bothered to buy GE consumer, although it's of dubious value. Stealing ideas and selling them at a lower price is a very fast way to ensure the west never ever does business with you again.
