Has anyone noticed in the last decade how everyday things and services have stopped working?

You buy something and it doesn't work out of the box or breaks a couple days earlier? Call in somewhere to fix a problem and the problem becomes worse by the end of the call? Internet slower. Food is inedible. Service worse. Garbage everywhere. Harder and harder to get simple problems fixed. Post any anecdotes or theories on why this happening.

Fart food is the most jaring example. It dosn't even work the way it used to. The hours are all fucked up. They will lock the doors and say "drive through only" if it is getting to busy. I waited 25 minuets for a egg McMuffin. I can damn well order a pizza in that amount of time. I don't even order fast food anymore. Food broke.

Bought a new phone to replace one with a defective battery. New phone is an ifag 13. It routinely loses connection to services and requires a restart. Additionally Siri no longer answers questions anymore. It simply Google searches what you ask it.

I work in IT and the windows updates that get pushed on devices are routinely worse than what their replacing. Updates that break network printers or VPNs and cost our clients 10s of thousands of dollars to get fixed.

I live near a few mechanics. Newer and newer model cars are in shops for major work. Failing transmissions or problems with the computers. Most of these neeer vehicles don’t crack 50,000 miles until it needs major parts replaced.

Food as been cut with more and more söy products. I don’t eat cereal anymore but a roommate does. He bought some chocolate bullshit stuff. I checked the ingredients on the box he left out. The first ingredient is sugar followed by söy bean oil cut with some coco powder.

Some things yes and some things no. Today you can tackle most problems just over the phone. Your phone alone allows you to do a thousands things you'd have to do in person twenty years ago. In terms of the quality of material items and many services, I can see good arguments for it. Go ask a question about motor oil at a store and only the one old timer in the back knows what the fuck he's talking about. Buy anything not expensive and it's some Made in China garbage.

The saddest part about that last point is that "Made in USA" for me used to be something that I wouldn't even question it. I would just buy the product knowing it had great quality because it was made by AMERICANS. And to a certain extent that's still the case. BUT, now it means less to me because sure it's made IN USA, but not made BY Americans. You get products made by illegal Mexican cheap labour instead of Americans and that has the same quality to me as Made in China garbage.
