I think it would solve more problems than it creates. Imagine two people who hate each other want to settle it for good? A duel is the only way. Obviously niggers are without honor, but if we made it legal that a nigger can kill his opposing gang member in the form of a duel maybe they would choose that route. Instead of being impulsive, a duel is usually the best way to resolve a misunderstanding. A lot of times the fight would be resolved before the duel took place. But sometimes it had to happen. Also bring back public hanging for horrible crimes. That should also deter would be criminals.

I do think dueling can get out of hand and lead to a lot of unnecessary death. But at the time there's something nice about the finality of a settled dispute. If you could bring back dueling in a less lethal way, it could probably free up a lot of court cases. Obviously you simply can't have duels with modern firearms because they are too accurate and deadly.
For an example of what dueling based honor culture would look like, just read the crime reports of any American city with a significant black population. They regularly duel and shoot at each other over arguments and personal disputes. "Arguments" is actually the number one cited reason leading to shootings/homicides in America today.

The traditional manner is that whoever is challenged to a duel gets to pick the weapons. So if you insult someone or call their honor into question, and they, not wanting to be seen as a coward, decide to challenge you to a duel for their honor, you have the right to select the weapon.
There's a story in that documentary I believe, someone once challenged Abraham Lincoln to a duel, he accepted, and his weapon of choice for the duel was Longswords. The person challenging him backed down because obviously Abe Lincoln was a fucking giant and would've easily won with longswords

It was made illegal primarily because of who was dueling. It was considered an elite gentlemanly practice. Basically only people "with honor" would actually engage in dueling. If you were a poor subsistence farmer, you basically had no honor, and if someone called you a broke piece of shit you'd probably just have to take it.
But for the aristocrats of society, honor was very important. It was extremely important. And to insult one's honor demanded a response, you couldn't just let that shit go lest you be known as a faggot who lets people walk all over you.
It should also be noted that the vast majority of duels were not fatal. Merely responding to the duel was enough to keep your honor. It didn't really matter if you won or not, although if you did, of course you'd have bragging rights. But even if you lost the duel, you were still seen as a man with honor who wasn't afraid to stand behind his words.
Ultimately though dueling got more and more popular throughout the 18th century and into the early 19th century. I mean, you had fucking Vice Presidents and leaders of entire nations engaging in personal duels. This was simply too much of a liability for society. These people are important and intelligent, it's simply not worth it for the rest of society if they up and die of something completely preventable

yes, it should be noted that even into the early 20th century, fencing duels to first blood were still somewhat common in European aristocratic circles. I don't think the documentary I linked earlier mentioned that aspect, but it's a fascinating period worth exploring.

There’s something honorable about dueling. Imagine if Biden called Trump a Russian agent or Putin puppet, that’s like the biggest disrespect of your honor I can think of, just challenge him to a duel. Dueling will help kill the rhetoric. Very damaging rhetoric. I.e. the lies.
