Were the US to Balkanize there'd probably only be three, four states max. Any state without access to the ocean would be pretty fucked, so in the event of said Balkanization states with it would make ones that didn't their bitch.
East Coast and West Coast would comprise two of the countries, the third would likely be Texas and the Gulf Coast states with the Midwest basically randomly divided between East Coast and whatever Texas ends up calling itself.
The only real wildcards are Alaska & Hawaii for obvious reasons and Florida for always being a swing state that never aligned with "The South" in any real sense beyond geographically.
Alaska and Hawaii would probably with whatever state is already most currently responsible for supply lines.

Assuming this is some goofy total world collapse scenario sure, but with just your bog standard violent separation Alaska doesn't have the people nor the resources to annex Canadian territory.
Canada (or even Russia) would likely offer annexation.

I'm not entirely sure how self-sufficient Hawaii is nowadays but they don't really gain anything from total independence. It would take the most deranged and arrogant leaders in history to believe Hawaii would be better as an independent country than allying with one of the major players in NA.
