It's funny that you are forced to maintain a military when you live next to us. Almost like you are being extorted

>We were supposed to buy the Gripen.
F-35 is cheaper and its manufacturer is right there.

Switzerland did the same. Poland and Germany too. They're so gonna get fucked on the long run.

F-35 is WAY more expensive

I thought we bought old Australian F18s instead. Fuck globohomo and fuck Canada.

Doesn't matter what Canada 'chooses', US Congress should block the sale on National Security grounds.

Chinese f35 in 3 years

because this keeps the retarded dollar alive on crutches

>F-35A Price Per Unit: $78 million
>Gripen Price Per Unit: $85 million
The difference isn't much, but it's there.

Saab is probably seething so hard right now. They were really invested in this, plus losing $90B

Also the Gripens were going to be built in Canada

Why purchase a non-NATO aircraft?

>Canada buys 1 jet
REMILITIRIZATION

REEEEEE

It’s cheaper.

Give me the Pros/Cons of each aircraft
Where /ko/mmandos at

There was only 9 serviceable ones the rest were hulks -- they are 4o years old -- they were designed in the 1970's

Canada Stronk !!

>Sweden
Why the fuck world Canada buy a non-NATO jet? Sounds like making a lot of work for ourselves getting itegration with NATO systems.

>maintaining your own country's defense is extortion
How do you homos simultaneously believe this and that nato should be disbanded?

Canada doesn't even fight wars, they're too progressive.

why would they need to when they can remote disable them whenever they want? except for israel’s , they have that feature removed. because its anti semitic

Lol really?

>+ 5 millions dollars every two weeks to change the painting when it is cripled by some dust.
>+ 10 millions dollars once a year to repair the plane after it shoots itself with it's gun.
>+ 50 millions dollar for the mandatory software update that allow you to sustain supersonic flight.

The price isn't just from the planes, the finnish 64 plane procurement will be around $170M per plane when you add all the shit together. The Gripen would be cheaper, but not by alot.

How did it come to pass that buying the F-35 just meant a sign that your nation was under the globo homo regime?
Like a country buys an S400, Jews shit in their pants. Country buys F-35 Jews go full sheckles celebration with hands rubbing.

we don't live next to you yet I have the same feeling

The newest f-15s would have made more sense..

Wow, big surprise there... I guess we'll by 3 of them then run out of funding?

the us military can shut these down remotely, and it cannot fly without its computer, you know...

I wonder which bureaucratic cocksuckers ended up rich because they delayed this shit pointlessly for 7 years.

Another win for the US. This deal, combined with the deal to start selling natural gas to the EU proves that our empire is alive and well.

that’s without the seat cover option for the toilet that’s just the base model then add a trim package you’re looking at about 117 million

F-35 is basically the most modern multirole fighter currently existing, and is gonna be in service until 2070 or so. It's only real problems is that it's very large compared to most multirole fighters and its Aircraft Carrier version still leaves a lot to be desired.

What was wrong with the F-16?

>Sounds like making a lot of work for ourselves getting itegration with NATO systems
All you would have to do is put a credit card reader in the cockpit to ensure you kept up to date with your software subscriptions, problem solved.

delayed, pulled out of original deal, wasted millions, and will be last in line to acquire f35 (will be obsolete before first delivery).

And we probably fucked over the manufacturing deal we had too for some of the parts.

Reminder that Gripen got ransom-wared (aka surprise security audit) and refused to pay their security auditors. All their internal shit is publicly available on the internet.
