Think of it realistically. There was zero incentive for Axis powers to drag USA into the war until they were done with adversaries like Soviet Union and the UK. Why the fuck did they do it? Are Japanese retarded? Was Hitler retarded? Don't think so.
Was Pearl Harbor a false flag?

What do you think about the fsb apartment bombings in ‘99?
All wars are banker wars.
>fsb
wikipedia saying it's fsb does not mean it's really fsb. wikipedia, as good of a source of information it is a lot of times, is biased of course, they'd never write for 9/11 that it's CIA/Mossad collab which it definitely could be.
I mean if this was FSB what makes you think that ISIS attacks in Paris weren't a false flag as well?
Truth is islamist extremists know no borders and know no fear, if they feel pressured they will strike in most savage ways and wherever they like
>be Japan
>US imposes oil embargo against you
>desperately need to expand into southeast Asia and South Pacific for resources to sustain war efforts
>can't do that without provoking USA / taking Philippines
>know that US will stomp you with existing Navy + their own economy
>only chance is a quick devastating blow against US Pacific fleet and lightning campaign to seize South Pacific first, delaying U.S. retaliation and buying desperately needed time to dig in
The Lady Doth Protest Too Much, Methinks
>desperately need to expand into southeast Asia and South Pacific for resources to sustain war efforts
Is it true though? They were in the good spot already and you don't need much oil to reinforce your positions instead of being on the offensive. It doesn't add up, they knew they'd get stomped by the US eventually even if they deal a blow to their navy.
Probably. It never made sense to bomb pearl habor.
>They were in the good spot already and you don't need much oil to reinforce your positions instead of being on the offensive.
They were still embroiled in fighting in China and their oil reserves were desperately low. The only other option was to withdraw back to the home islands but that would have been unthinkable to the military leadership.
Pearl Harbor was indeed a false flag. The evidence is overwhelming:

So uhhh..how tf was attacking US was going to improve their oil reserves?
>Are Japanese retarded
Yes. They are utterly retarded and all that bushido bullshit is a meme. They have no understanding of strategy and geopolitics.
They were always like that, check out Imjin Wars.
1. They did subdue Korea in the end
2. They may not be the best fighters in the world but they're certainly the most capable in the region.
What Japanese certainly don't lack is intelligence. Portraying them as oriental monkeys indiscriminately attacking whoever is arguing in bad faith.
They could go for the oil in the Dutch East Indies. But doing so would mean having to past or around the U.S.-controlled Philippines, and would probably draw the U.S. into declaring war against them anyway. Since war with the U.S. was an inevitability, they could at least land the first blow and take the U.S. possessions in the Pacific. They would still be facing long odds, but not as bad as if the U.S. fleet was fully intact and able to strike out at them from the Philippines.
It was like going from a 1% chance of victory to a 5% chance. If they were extremely lucky, they *might* have been able to hold off the U.S. long enough to secure their positions on mainland Asia and negotiate some kind of armistice with the U.S.
Americans defenitly had to know. They had a major inteligence advantage and could listen to Japanese radio signals. My guess is they let them do it on purpuse, so they could shit the people into dying on some stupid islands.
*go past or around the Phillipines
maybe
>Why the fuck did they do it?
we embargoed them
we moved most ships out, so yeah, they knew
Certain parts of the US government wanted an excuse to get into the war, and they anticipated an attack in the pacific somewhere for sure, but ultimately the Japanese conducted the attack on their own volition and the attack was not planned or conducted by the US. Btw I think Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor was one stupidest things ever done in modern history.
Inb4 muh oil embargo.. it was the biggest conflict in the history of mankind, and you cannot expect people allied to your enemies to just provide you oil. What level of entitlement is that? Japan had taken over most of asia, they were loosely alloed against the Bongs- of course the US embargoed them kek. That's still no reason to serve up a large rising super power itching for war a perfect excuse to start one.
Yes and no. USA placed their soldies as bait because they wanted an excuse to join the war. They knew it was coming and let it happen.
It was only partly about the oil- they hoped for a quick knock out punch and sweep of the Pacific and then a treaty with the US and very favorable terms. But instead they got btfo and lost all that they had taken. If not for their war with the US they may have held on to some of their gains.
Yes they were getting hurt by the oil embargo.. but ultimately they declared war on the US because they realized it was either going to be them or the US that controlled the Pacific and they had large ambitions. This is basically historical record. They wanted control of the Pacific.
They were absolutely delusional to think they stand any semblance of chance against the US. Still can't wrap my mind around this stupidity.
They could've just taken China's oil then. If that doesn't work then abandon tanks and fight infantry and horses only.
