Instead of sitting around and arguing about political drama every day, we need to learn simple survival basics in the woods, just enough to sustain our lives. The world is already crumbling apart, you have to realize, that sooner or later things will reach a critical boiling point and we have to be prepared for that and escape to the woods.
Get a few Bushcraft tools and hike around your countryside, eventually you will find a hidden spot that is hard to trace and where nobody can find you. Set a camp/shelter or a small cabin there. Bonus points if you are close to a river, but don't set it too close, since all river spots are visited by people, even if you think they are not. 1-2km away from the river would be perfect.
And finally, try to learn what wild edibles you can eat. Of course, you can stock up on food from the store, (canned food, rice, flour, etc.. they can last really long) but regardless, you need to have good knowledge of the plant species and especially mushrooms. Hunting would probably be really hard for most people, but you can always rely on fishing. Most plants are edible and safe to eat anyway, some of them are even considered "superfood".
I'd assume a well built one with seasonal maintenance would last as long as a normal house.

Illegal in Germany.
Also we got no real woods.
Jordan Thompson
It really depends on how much time and effort you put into that building project, but a sturdy log cabin should be as good as a regular house. But also, if something does happen to your log cabin, you are out in the woods with free unlimited building supply. You can use that to renovate the log cabin, or just build a new one.
Aaron Phillips
To many factors to consider. Assuming it is on high, dry ground, not victim to insect infestation and properly ventilated, it can last over a century. Wood will need to be treated every 10-15 years depending on wood type. I personally the loghome is not ideal, and would opt for a small, solar oriented masonry home over logs, ICF would be ideal for continuous thermal cavity and no bridging, but that's just my opinion.
Daniel Morgan
that faggot doesn't live innawoods he is a city fuck
and he is annoying
Leo Cooper
Depends on how it was built. Most of the time the things that do cabins in are the roof rotting away and the foundation settling. Maintain it and it'll last
Charles Sanchez
MySelfReliance (YT channel) built that hut. He ended up selling it and moving because he had shit-for-brains neighbors living next to him that harassed him non-stop. If you're gonna live in the sticks, live away from weirdos.
Andrew Wood
>go be irrelevant in the woods while we rape your world beyond repair, and eventually come for you anyway.
No thanks, I'd rather not struggle for basics while secretly praying for a catastrophic supply chain collapse to justify my neo-luddism. Also, no God is not "closer to nature", God is in your moral courage. You're just a coward fleeing the fight. You deserve to be eaten by wolves while desperately trying to harvest aphid infested turnips. Homesteaders are a hipster cringefest that was cool like 2 years ago. There's a reason why all the homestead channels are run by thots now.
>youll die in the supply chain collapse cityfag I'm going to be the one hunting and eating people. Anytime the power goes out, I start my 8 hour countdown, if it reaches zero and the lights haven't come back on, the feasting begins.
Joshua Cook
yeah I never understood what the deal was with his neighbors? It seems like all those homestead channels had neighbor issues.
Juan Gonzalez
Plant some vines to take over and then build your refugee cabin there so it can't be seen, if your vines are destroyed then its not safe.
Brody Jones
Yes, it definitely seems harder in Germany, but there should be ways if you are sneaky enough to be not found. There are some really nice and less populated places around Kaiserslautern, the forest there seems quite nice.
That's because they live in shit-ridden countries. What you see in front of the camera is usually just some semi-suburban area. Canadian Prepper does the same thing where he just squats in a bush and it appears to be way out in the boonies.
They should try doing that in Norway. Fuck I can't even see airplanes crossing from my cabin. No cell phone reception, no proper roads for 2 miles and the nearest neighbor lives 7 miles away.
Feels good, man.
Dylan Fisher
If it's off the ground, hundreds of years. That one? 10. Also this:
Austin Diaz
>It seems like all those homestead channels had neighbor issues. People who moved to the country to get away from cityfags don't like cityfags moving in and recording everything for publication on the internet, who knew?
Jonathan Thompson
>be in mid 30s >own plenty of land >build a homestead >own old pickup and tractor for farm use
Life is good

B&R. I wish you the best with your American dream. God is on your side.
Matthew Reed
youtube.com/watch?v=CDPhdkdR9qI have you seen this guy? You'd probably like him. He's a random idiot with little outdoors experience who attempts straight line missions across countries. He barely preps and ends up nearly dying multiple times trying to do it with Norway. It's pretty funny.
Hunter Roberts
>in the woods Lmao, have you seen Denmark? That being said, I'm a neet and I live a good life.
