I think Russia mostly just has lots of oil and as far as China, well you could ship off and outsource the majority of production to almost any country and you would end up with almost the same results really.

China has lots of engineers I guess, which is true it's very essential and important so that they can travel to foreign lands and build large condominiums for the inevitable rich foreign (and prolly chinese) person to buy it and then rent if half off to other asian and chinese people.
