I’ve always loved history, foreign relations, stuff like that. I went into a Russian history kick around 2010-12 when things weren’t as antagonistic toward Russia and there was a lot more objectivity. I really do think that your government has a point when it comes to US intrusion. The idea of a western power inching closer and closer to their border while saying “no we’re best friends, we have agreements, we would never...” isn’t going to fly. Been there, done that. I honestly think Russia made a good faith effort for peace, and I think the US did too, but both countries see the world from two very different perspectives that completely interject with their foreign policy goals.
The point where things started to become sour would just so happen to be the year after 2002, when the US invaded Iraq over fake weapons. That’s where it started going wrong.
