And basing the general support for independence in 2014 on the basis of pro Russian parties electoral results is pretty stupid too. Take Carpathian Ruthenia for example. Pro Russian parties and candidates were a major force there, but at the same time nobody in their right mind would claim that Ruthernians want independence from Ukraine. Basically what im saying is that there is simply no way to tell whether most people in Donbas wanted or supported independence from Ukraine in 2014. I mean if LDPR were genuinely a grassroots movement in the same vein that say Artsakh or Chechen separatists were, then Id agree. But in a scenario where the separatist republics were literally started by russian glowies, and were basically entirely dependent on russian "volunteers" for their survival, i dont think so.
