Yes, but make sure it has ShortWave.
This is by far the most important feature in a bugout radio.
I used a Grundig M300 (the AA battery pocket radio model) in Iceland and in some places, I couldn't get FM, barely any AM, but SW came in clear and I could hear stations in other countries up there.
Also I agree, a dial tuning can be better. Digital tuning can sometimes "skip" over a station while scanning, the C Crane Skywave has both digital and fine tuning with a dial.
You can find a used Grundig M400 for around US $20 on eBay with a little patience, it has dial tuning.

I'm going to get a little sleep now, but will be back in a few hours to catch up on happenings.

Went for a xhdata d-808 this week. Paired with a MLA-30, works pretty well although can't hear the buzzer or 8992 or 4724 in Austria. Gonna have to reposition the antenna maybe. Other then that I like that it has airband
