I barely paid attention to politics until 2019. I was happy Trump won in 2016 because he triggered all the most annoying people, and I had the vague impression that he was a major shit talker and would lie about all kinds of trivial things, but never cared (I'm not even American). I remember some time in 2018 or 2019 I looked at NYTimes front page (I never paid attention to the news, not even local news/politics) and did a ctrl-F for Trump, and every single news article about him was negatively framed. I thought this was ridiculous, naked propaganda. I thought, are they really going to make every single Trump story negatively framed, and think I won't notice? Surely people aren't so stupid to fall for such obvious manipulation.
I then noticed the same pattern on CNN, and I was blown away. I just COULDN'T BELIEVE they would frame every story negatively, it completely destroyed their credibility with me. Until that point I assumed that news media would at least try to give the impression of fairness.

Yeah Trump exposed the spell/magic power of newscycles. Before he was elected he made so many outrages statements, like being attracted to his daughter etc, I started to notice for the first time in my life how media operates like an orchester, it comes in organized waves but every now and then they all go max out to demonize a person, and everyone would hate that person unconditionally, and believe media.
When I saw the same power/magic trying to destroy trump every single week in a new headline, their magic was exposed. Trump broke and exposed the inner workings of the evil media cartel/octupus.
That being said, I believe 60% of the world might be NPC and despite it being obvious that media is controlled by monolithic entity projecting constant falsehood, many people just believe whatever tv tells them
