Finns were originally forest people around the southern finland, most of them came from east and south. Our genetics is so weird that presumably we were small group of people that ran away from eastern hordes and rest were killed.

Tell that to a Sami. Finnish and Sami are closely related, but not the same. Also Russians are related to finns genetically through intermarriage a thousand years ago. It would be closer to say Russians are mix between Swedish, Finnic, slavic and Mongol/turkish DNA.

Finnic language is from west of urals. Closely related to Uralic languages. Finns are Indo-european people with a Finno-ugric language. The split happened when indo-euros were first arriving in Europe. Most went west, others north. Russian came to Russia about 1000 years ago before that, there were very little slavs in Russia. Even the name Moscow comes from fenno language. Meaning Mos=musta=Black and kva=vesi=water. Todays Finland didn't live under the golden horde and aren't really genitcally related to mongols. Actually those hordes came from south. Small pockets of Fenno-Ugric people still remain in some places on the territory of Russia to mark this past. For many years after the Ice had retreated all those northern territories were populated by Fenno-Ugric tribes. Our ancestors hugged the ice line, lived near the edge of it, being constantly harassed by southern invaders.
