My theory is that the Massachusetts state Senate is full of shit when they say they don't have time to take up a vote on sports betting because they have kickbacks coming from the lottery system.

Even though the house passed it like 108-9 and the Governor has pushed for it for 3 years they say they have to focus more on "education and climate change" and don't have time, plus they are worried about people "losing their money gambling"

Meanwhile the state has approved 2 major casinos in the past 5 years and also has the highest lottery spending per Capita in the nation, by a wide margin. ($765 per person, next closest is $508 and USA average is $232). So that's BS.

As for time and education and climate change, 30 states in the country have working models they could copy, and many of them funnel the massive tax revenues into those very areas.

All the surrounding states have legal sports betting already. It's an embarrassment for the Commonwealth, and the Senate look like clowns with their excuses.

Whenever a sensible conspiracy theory does come along and strong arguments are made for it, controlled opposition groups like alex jones and joe rogan are going to do everything they can to discredit it by pushing all the wrong arguments. Like the pizzagate scandal where they got some actor to break into the restaurant to check whether there really was a basement. Never once did the media or supposed fact checkers ever mention or give credence to the bizarre and pedophilic pictures that were openly posted on social media.
