Even if Zelensky flipped, they still have to convince the Ukranians to go along and at this point I'm not sure they'd get along to go along. Yes lets just invite a bunch of murderous tyrants into our country who have already killed millions and displaced a third of the population. Zelensky has to convince Ukranians that the Russians are not going to kill them or impoverish them and at this point that is a really fucking hard sell. You are already set on a long, bloody civil war if Russians stay in Ukraine. Zelensky won't back down without strong assurances.
The Russians would use nukes to clear the way to Poland\Romania and stop there, and then try to break nato apart with natural gas energy exports by bribing Turkey and Germany so they can push to Warsaw and into Romania to get their stopgaps and hold. Perhaps they'll just stop at Ukraines borders and say good enough for the next 2 decades. I happen to think however that kind of peace may not last for long.
