Logically, if energy is finite, then all alien civilizations will try to capture as much energy as possible and try to defeat any civilization that they can to achieve maximum energy capture.

There are too many planets and too much time for there not to be alien life. In all likelihood, there should be some that advanced far earlier than us. Given a long enough period of time they must have already known we exist, yet they did not destroy us.

There is only ONE logical reason for them to know we exist and not destroy us for energy and material resources. That reason is they have managed to find a way to move to new and earlier universes or even create universes and move into them.

This means, if we survive, the heat death is not the end, we will find a way to travel to new universes.

I think aliens will mostly be peaceful because any species that does not evolve past senseless aggression inevitably will wipe itself out with technology. There could be some weird bug entities with movies like Alien with something that looks like us as horror films in their movies somewhere far away in the universe, though.

There's no reason to believe the same trivial chemistry that happened on Earth couldn't happen on other worlds. There are probably several hundred million habitable worlds in this galaxy alone. Anything that photosynthesis require light, light access is a scarce resource. Plants, especially trees, kill each other by strangling opponents with their roots so they can gain access to light. Those without light have stunted growth and lower capacity to reproduce. A photosynthesizing slug is no different, the slug also needs water and material resources, etc.

Competition is a necessity of life, reproduction can not go on infinitely, a carrying capacity is reached and thus any further reproduction requires organisms to outcompete each other.

Context matters. You could argue that just because things end, doesn't mean they're pointless. At some point in time, something mattered to someone, and maybe that's enough?
