I think in his early days of PM there would’ve been a chance to actually strengthen relationships with Russia and maybe even make an NATO-like alliance with them. But since retarded boomers that are still in office believe “Muh Russia bad” because they grew up in the height of the Cold War, the fact that NATO still exist even after the Soviet Union collapsed showed that the hatred for Ruskies was still fresh and alive. And since they couldn’t make their bitch since Yeltsin left office, they sour the relations with Russia and as a result we are now in a second Cold War possibly going result into another global conflict if the Russo-Ukraine war gets out of hand.

That I agree. But the rest seems oversimplified. he’s knew what the repercussions were in launching a full-scale invasion in which It will result heavy sanctions and cut off from the west. We already saw this scenario play out with the annexation of Crimea back in 14’. There would have possible chance that he would launch the invasion back in 15’ but guess what? We had the elections coming up. Trump got elected into office and he knew damn well if he invaded Ukraine during Trump’s presidency it would result in him taking military action against Russia. All that Putin can do is essentially do is support pro-Russian DPR and LPR forces. But since we “elected” Biden, he now saw an opportunity to take action and knew that he’s a demented frail man that won’t do shit expect what he and Obama did back when this shitshow which was just economic sanctions.
We all knew this was an inevitability. Only question of when will happen was the big answer and It already did just literally a month ago. The question is now how bloodthirsty is the west for Ruskie blood and are we willing to risk WW3 for it?
