How big of a loss for Russia was Marakiv? Is this the fabled Ukrainian coubter attack picking up steam?
Ian Garcia
Not really visible on the maps. The remaining half of Mariupol is still being reduced, and the Ukrainians have apparently blown open spillways to try and block the Russian advances north-west of Kiev.
Cameron Thomas
The capture of thousands of Russian troops in Kiev suburbs seems like a clear sign Russia is at the limits of what it can do conventionally. How long until Putin escalates his terror campaign to include chemical and biological weapons and where will they be used?

there are some very interesting uses of warships' roles in ground bombardment. Of course the British pioneered the whole idea of "gunship diplomacy" in the 17th century. The most interesting use of warships that I have read about is unironically General Patton (who else thinks outside the box like this guy???), who during the landings in North Africa, ordered his destroyer escorts to target german tank columns advancing on his landing postion, making the first use ever of small naval guns (6inch guns) from warships at attacking tanks on land. He had elements of his infantry units, who had already landed, directing gunfire from the destroyers, and successfully repelled the german armor counter attack.
Also at the battle of Salerno, Italy, ( daileyint.com/seawar/seawar8.htm ) german tanks directly duelled naval gunships, and the tanks lost again, unable to match the rate of fire of the gunships, or the mobility advantage of being on water.
The sea belongs to the navy, and anything on shore, within range, of thier 6 inch guns, is prey. the sheer volume and capacity of naval guns is awesome compared to tanks. They can POUR shells into an area for hours!
The battle of Gela, during the invasion of sicily, witnessed General Patton again, using the destroyers 6 inch guns to destroy armor units. Interestingly, in the case, Patton had little air support (unlike torch). He again used infantry elements on land (16th, 26th and 180th Regiments of American Airborne Rangers) to direct naval gunfire onto armored columns intent on attacking his beachheads.
Hey, baker, just a friendly tip that unless stated otherwise the usual baker is already taking care of baking and you shouldn't bake unless the old baker specifically says they won't bake anymore. Thanks.

It's unclear if they ever actually held it, and Ukraine also claimed to have recaptured it in early march.

They could try Dresdenizing keef with a hundred or so strategic bombers and tens of thousands of cheap dumb bombs. They should have done that on the first day but whatever

/chug/ seem happy to ignore the fact that Ukraine has a history of consistently voting against Israel at the UN.
Zelensky compared the bombing of Ukraine to the Holocaust.
And the Israeli response to his requests for aid as his country fights off a Russian invasion. “I expected greater support”...
“I saw a nice picture of Jews wrapped in Ukraine flags by the Western Wall I did not feel that the Israeli prime minister is wrapped in our flag.”
Let's review some of Ukraine's UN votes. >Ukraine voted in favor of the UNRWA. 10 December 2020 >abstained from the militantly anti-Israel, "Report of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories" 27-Aug-2020 >voted in favour of the “Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the occupied Syrian Golan” 30/01/2020 >voted in favour of the “The occupied Syrian Golan” resolution. 22/06/2020
Instead, /chug/ pushes cringe nonsense that zelensky is funded by Israel.
Putlerbros, we were supposed to have taken Kyiv by now and our supply lines are not working… troops at Hostomel and Myla are getting cut off by the Hohols
Did we get too cocky?

Onions are a staple of french cuisine, usually lightly colored and caramelised in butter. Onions and shalots. They perfume almost everything you want with that sweet taste.
