A clump of cells on Mars is in fact life. Not very valuable life, but life. It indicates the possibility of other life in other places. Perhaps life not so dislike ourselves.
A fetus is life, but it is not "alive" according to a leftist. It does not have a "soul". Of course they wouldn't talk of souls but its basically what they mean. Its not a "person" yet. They have literally mentally gymnasticsed themselves into believing that a human baby is not a living being worth caring about.

Niggles are a tremendous social burden. Right now.
But maybe they don't have to be.
And even if they will never achieve what other peoples can, they still have the right to self determination.
I tend to think of them the same way I think of sci-fi alien races. Very different, but worthy of their own kind of respect and the hope that we can get along.
