For any bureaucratic system, it is more important for the bureaucracy to look like it is doing something then it is for it to be doing anything meaningful. The more I think about it, the more sure I am this heuristic is true for every bureaucracy in existence. The bigger the bureaucracy, more obvious this becomes. If you ever see the government doing something flashy in response to a problem, it's probably just sound and fury.

The republic as described by plato and yearned for by meritocratic nationalists honestly does seem like a great idea, but it still suffers from the same thing as every other system - time. The gatekeepers of societal standards will eventually die and need to be replaced, and who will be the gatekeepers of the gatekeepers? Sure, you can write the standards down, but rules and regs are only as good as their enforcement. People will inevitably have changes of heart and mind as they become exposed to circumstances.
And there's no guarantee that those of ill will will not attempt to fool their way into these positions of power and then abuse them. So what safeguards can be put in place to guard against both age and deceit?

We are entering a new era of international relations, though one that more resembles the world as it always was prior to WWII. Multipolarity is now inevitable. The US has utterly failed in its attempt at global hegemony. The decline of the West is now more evident than it's ever been.
If you think the hysteria we're experiencing is bad now, wait until we actually begin to see the results of losing our position of power on the international stage.
This is what normies wil never understand: everything we have is thanks to the ruthlessness of our ancestors, as soon as we caved in to the allure of altruism (even the elites have succumb to liberal social engineering) our fate was decided.
