If your OB is very good they can attempt to turn the baby in the womb. It is risky, they will give your wife a muscle relaxant to make it easier to turn the baby and then try to physically actually just spin the baby. If it doesn't work however the only option left is immediate C section because of the risk to the baby. Some babies will resist it and flip back over. It worked for our third child. You need to start reading about C sections and complications with your wife now because a c section is better than a dead wife and or child. It doesn't matter how much you don't want it if it means your family's safety. You can mitigate the potential damage to her body and the baby will be none the worse for wear, especially compared to when women get epidurals.

Nail 4 2x4s together. Lay one end on the bed or the couch and the other on the floor. Have your woman lay on the boards with her head toward the floor end. So now she is laying on a board at a slanted angle upside downish. This will put press in the womb and the baby will turn naturally to become more comfortable. She may need to do this several times a day. Works every time. It worked for my aunt at 38 weeks

Our daughter was breach, didn't do the thing to move her and just went with a scheduled c-section. Went incredibly smooth and healed quickly. I'd go with that over risking your baby's life or your wife's if there is any complications. Scheduled c-sections are MUCH easier on the mom and the staff than emergency ones. Just my 2 cents as we went through it 2 years ago.

You need to listen to your gut and get a second opinion on anything you've brought up then. Some women can handle the various baby shifting maneuvers, some women cannot. It CAN be very painful, it can also be manageable for some women. C-sections also heal very differently based on the current health of the mother, if she's not overweight or too old then it will heal very, very well. If you're asking here for advice you need a better OB/GYN or midwife who will actually help you confront what's worrying you.

Wanted to add, the procedure they can do to possibly make the baby move can stress it and cause health issues, or cause it to be born premature ... just isn't worth the risk. A csection truly (if scheduled) is not that bad. I'm the one that went through it, it was a little painful for a few days but she'll get over it. The worst was getting up for the first time but once that was done it was ok. I walked out myself even though they said they'd wheel me. Do not risk her life and the childs life if there are any chances of complications dude, and please no vaccines. Protect that little one as much as you can, they are so so so precious.

The WHO recommends trying this BEFORE considering scheduled C-section. It's not guaranteed to work, but you should try to exhaust all options.
Getting 2nd opinions like other anons have mentioned can also be helpful, but you'll need to make a move.
Worse comes to worse OP, you might have to bite the bullet and do the C-sec. The simple choice is either have the C-sec or take the risk and possibly lose the baby in a horrific manner. I wish you luck in your baby's safe delivery.

user if you shop around and find the right OB you can deal with this conversation NOW not during birth. There are many OBs who will let you wait to cut the cord with zero resistance and finding a pediatrician who will put off or not do immediate vaccination isn't difficult. The only thing you'll have a hard time finding is a pediatrician that is willing to not do the PKU. I cannot recommend against attempting it at home enough, deal with these concerns now while pressure is low and do it in the hospital where all the tools necessary for every situation are there.
