Why go to church and spend a Sunday listening to somebody who commits more sin in a week then you do in a lifetime tell you how bad you are when you can worship the lord and praise his name every day on your own.
I don't need a grown man to tell me to read a bible, I do it of my own accord. I don't need one to also tell me how to pray or be a righteous man.

I've been considering going to church to expand practicing my faith.
They still have Latin mass here in Texas, but a lot of places seem to preach prosperity gospel or globohomo values.
Matthew 6 mentions not just practicing your faith openly in public for the purpose of the admiration of others, but it seems like a lot of people do that.
Am I better off just avoiding churches and staying with private study and prayer?
