Should I feel sorry for the dead soldiers in Ukraine and Russia?

All those dead had families, relatives, probably children etc. I know soldiers die in war but what’s the point? The only thing their superiors care about is fresh blooc for the ones lost to replace them. The dead are useless to both sides now. As a Ukrainian/Russian soldier, was it really worth it sacrificing yourself and causing untold pain to those who loved you? Was the cause really worth dying for? No-one apart from those you knew will even know, understand or appreciate what you did. You’re nameless and just another statistic. It saddens me greatly bros.
