Kharkov is the second most important city in Ukraine, the Ukrainians have their best forces there after Kiev.
The Russians opened too many fronts, they don't have enough troops for a concentrated attack, that's why the front has stagnated these last days. They are reorganizing their troops to concentrate them effectively, it is likely that they will abandon some front.
