J&J is an adenoviral vector. It uses an adenovirus to put DNA coding for the spike protein into your cells. Your cells then produce the spike protein. AZ works the same way.
Pfizer and Moderna are mRNA vector. They use lipid nanoparticles to put mRNA into your cells. Your cells then produce the spike protein.
Covaxin (The Indian vaccine) is an inactivated virus. This is the one that is like normal vaccines. It uses an inactivated (or dead) version of the virus, and your cells don't produce any spike protein. I do not know how they produce the inactivated virus specifically, they may use human cells, mouse cell, or insect cells, or maybe chicken eggs like how the flu vaccine is made.
Novavax is another one that is talked about. They use insect cells to produce the spike protein. They then purify the spike protein and assemble it onto lipid nanoparticles and inject that. Your cells don't produce any spike protein.
