Starlink has always been a military project

Starlink has always been a military project.
It was never about "muh faster internet" but about secure, fast, uninterceptible communication for military drones with global reach. Drones are the future of warfare. Drones are have replaced tanks, ships and airplanes.

Starlink is made up of thousands of low orbit satellites that use lasers for direct satellite-to-satellite communication between any 2 points on the globe. These signals are impossible to intercept by an enemy even if he had some way to decrypt the message.

How can Russia even counter that without creating a ton of space junk which would endanger all other satellites including russian reconnaissance satellites?

what makes you think leveling the playing field with a can of nails isn't a completely viable option?

so many stations that our enemies wouldn't have enough missiles to shoot them all down - it's brilliant pebbles but for comms

Kek starlink is slow as shit

>Satellites help dominate, pound Putin's helpless tanks
Ask me how I know this article is propaganda

you really don't understand the dynamics of space warfare. "can of nails" is the usual term for chaffing the orbit paths, in reality you could use a few dozen mail order glitter bombs and take out 80-90% of the orbitals.
Each sat that gets obliterated itself becomes chaff that later obliterates more sats

How to turn earth into a prison planet 101 never able to leave our atmosphere

yeah, and? Like our betters aren't planning on it the second they have a luxury colony somewhere else

how do thoose 50€ drones destroy russians?
ynbaw

its too little to late

russia already has direct ascent anti-satellite technology

starlink will need cope cages

Not until most of the crap de-orbit.
Never thought I would talk about Kessler Syndrome on Any Forums.

Starlink is in LEO.
Fragments at this level will deorbit by themselves.

doesn't the ISS orbit a bit lower than starlink?

Tesla has always been a military battery manufacturer. They make cars for some revenue while they continue their research.

well yeah, the application to comms satellites works for that since they're a continuous operation/application, brilliant pebbles was meant to be a loitering munition with a one time instantaneous use so by the time "can of nails" took effect it wouldn't matter anymore because the nukes would either already be flying or already shot down, but with comms satts the can of nails would likely knock them out within a few orbits

>How can Russia even counter that
a simple radio jamming?

Since you know, drones arent connected to sattelines by laser. Also, the whole article is bullshit, litterally all of it is made up

Don't remember but the ISS is in Low Orbit also.
Need to be boosted back up from time to time.

wtf, I thought that Elon was supposed to be based?

Elon Musk is based, of course.
This being said, everything American in orbit is a edge for the US military.

Starlink has been fully militarized against Russia. Pretty much 100% of starlink staff are happy and eager to take the fight to Russia.
Elon Musk should be sanctioned. See him build his rockets with no titanium.
Why the fuck are the Russians being so goddamn nice? Don't they realize this is a fight to the death?

I had a nightmare the other day where It was night time and I looked up and the sky was full of lights lined up in rows followed by large crafts flying overhead. Dream or not I really don't like this star link shit.

Is this you OP?

> impossible to intercept
user.. nothing is impossible to intercept

Fucking THANK YOU i've been saying this sine its inception there's NO WAY Starlink could be even remotely profitable unless it was subsidized by the government. You think surveillance is bad now, this will have practically every inch of the earth locked down. Also for all the dipshits clamoring for self driving cars, I hope they understand the government is just going to use that as an excuse to get rid of all regular cars also
