That's not necessarily true. There is a good chance your food wont suffer direct radiation from the blast depending on how far our you are, and the fallout can be blocked quite simply. The same way you would block smoke from coming into your house.

One factor is that the cities would be blown up, but the fields and farmers would carry on. There probably wont be a food shortage, short of potentially a nuclear winter, which may or may not happen.

by comparison, food will be laying in body piles in the streets. you only need 3 days of food, days 26-28 so youre fresh right when everyone else fades away.

This really is the best time to stock up. Once normies see what's going on, we will have panic buying like in 2020. They will clean out everything and a month later it will be restocked. Hard times will come when the shortages REALLY start to hit.

A lot of non-perishables in the supermarket last three years. Survival MREs last 25 to 30. If you got a yard and room for it learning to garden/farm, now is a great time to start.

Thankfully I both live and work in a place that would be instantly vaporized in the event that nukes are dropped. I do have a cupboard filled with tinned sardines (and some other fish), and could easily live off of that for alone for a few months. But that had nothing to do with prepping. I just really like tinned fish.

I don't see any point in keeping more than 3 days worth of food. And I usually have like 2 weeks supply by default anyway. There's probably enough milk, juices and shit to survive 2 weeks if ration it as well
