And when it comes to Ukraine, even if he wins in two weeks (and that's a big if, given West Ukraine has a far more forested terrain and is more distant from the borders, and Russian logistics in this war suck), he has no after plan for it. If he installs a puppet, it won't be recognized by either Ukrainians (even the Russian speaking ones now hate Russia, see Kharkiv) of foreign countries, if he outright annexes it he'll have a much larger aghanistan right inside his country.
If anything his war served to crystalize ukrainian national identity, with this war playing the role the American Revolution plays in the US or the Independence War in Algeria or Sino-Japanese war in China, with cringe exaggerated stories of resistance entering the national consciousness as tales of ukrainian bravery and moving people to fight for their nation.
He got himself in his own Afghanistan, a un-winnable war with no endgame in sight and draw on guerrilla and terroristic activities until he dies.
