Mastering the manufacture and employment of explosives is probably more useful than shooting a bow. See Uncle Fester or David Harber and enjoy. Also, if you do want to get into archery on the cheap, make yourself a PVC bow. They're very effective (except in freezing temps) and easy to make. This fag has some good tutorials.

Get a crossbow if you can, you're less likely to hurt yourself and more likely to actually hit what you're aiming at.
Bow hunting is hard as fuck and takes a LOT of practice.
You won't have the muscle groups to use a #60 recurve
If you must have a bow get a junior compound for your first.
