It's 109 countries, but well over 2000 times, meaning the same country multiple times, I checked once.

And that is terrible.
But, it is a war. From one of the biggest militaries. That is bordering the country.
And all MSM have told you that this is a bloody war that keeps targeting civilians.
In this country of 44.400.000 people, there have "only", still terrible for the individuals who lost them, but it is still "only" 109 children.
This tells you that despite everything else (the attack, the reason for it etc), Russia have to a large degree tried to avoid hitting civilians.

Compare it to the west and out "shock and awe" strategy hitting infrastructure and civilians to destroy the enemy's will to fight.

Take it from me (master in history, and focus on military history), this war was "gentle" for the first 15 days (UN estimated less than 600 dead civilians by then). On day 16 the Russians started targeting food storages, and they have avoided big advances, while focusing on moving troops to surround bigger cities, and entire areas where the ukranians have stationed mass of soldiers. Ass we speak over 60.000 Ukranian soldiers are getting surrounded in the eastern parts, and from the convoy pictures we have seen a large increase in field artilleries. Russians clearly thought the ukranians would surrender quickly (troops bringing parade uniforms into a battle field, low amount of rations, no backfield hospitals etc (surrender to save it's people, or put of fear, or maybe because of the large russian parts of the population. Nobody knows what reasoning the Russians used to think the ukranians would surrender).

The days ahead look dark for the ukranians, unless they are able to take advantage of the Russians moving troops and equipment right now, them the Russians will dogg inn and strangle the ukranians with artillery fire and literally starving the soldiers and cities.
It is a strategy used for thousands of years, and it works.

Well if the ukes would figure out that there aren't any baby soldiers in the Russian military, and stop using babies are flesh shields (which is highly ineffective due to the fact that babies are smaller than adults), maybe they'd stop getting killed.

Sure, but to put it into perspective I will do just day one of the Iraq war.
The UN estimated that about 15,000 Iraqis were killed in the first day of the invasion of Iraq. And US forces estoamed that up to 4,300 of the dead were civilian noncombatants. That's on day one, and the population of the two countries is almost equal.
