Can Putin win? If Russia loses this war, it would set a bad precedent. It would embolden Ukraine's genocide against Donbas and American imperialism

His message has already pass on to us it won't matter in the longer term if they suffer losses
Not a war.
Only the rich win at war
No, he can't. The war was lost Ukraine fought back. He doesn't have enough troops to even occupy parts of Ukraine, his economy is crumbling and his military can't sustain the losses as more and more weapons pour in from the west. His entire plan was relying on occupying Ukraine, the people throwing flowers and getting some minor sanctions.
The war was lost on day 1. Or unwinnable from the start, however you like.
>But with enough troops and time he can take over Ukraine
A week ago I'd have said sure. Now I think it's unlikely.
Even then, as pointed out, he can't occupy it. He doesn't have the troops or money or diplomatic standing for it anymore.
I don't think we have seen deliberate national suicide on this scale in the last 60 years desu.
That being said, Ukrain cant really win neither
zero chances of losing
you have to understand one thing
nobody had the same problems that Russia is solving in Ukraine
US would just bomb the fuck out of everything, infrastructure, etc., like they did in Raqqa or Yugoslavia
here are some of the problems:
- Ukraine inherited large parts of USSR's military industrial complex, vehicles, long and medium range air defenses, planes, ammo enough for 2 wars
- US and co. heavily invested in restructuring, training and rebuilding Ukraine's military since 2014. They built a 100km fortress in Donbass, filled with mines, etc. This is where the bulk of Ukraine's army is. Based on open source, by 2022 Ukraine's army is more powerful than Polish. They get intel from US, use NATO communication devices. Got stingers, anti-tank weapons, etc., etc., etc.
- But by far the biggest obstacle for Russia is the fact that basically on day one, Ukrainian army and other thugs moved its military vehicles and men right into cities like Kharkov, especially Mariupol (important economic city) and are not letting people evacuate. They are being used as live shields. It is extremely telling that in Mariupol, more than 40k+ people were evacuated only after Azov got pushed from certain parts of the city, making them unable to prevent civilian evacuation in those parts.
- Ukrainian government is under direct control of the US. It is at a safe place and is playing its part in prolonging the conflict. It won't be surrendering.
Russia is trying to minimize civilian casualties. That's why there is no blitzkrieg or why, for example, Kiev still has heating, electricity, internet.
Now do you understand the uniqueness? It's a unique situation, and we probably won't it again.
US could send a few thousand M109 Paladins and a few divisions worth of Abrams with the secret sauce exotic composite armor
Its simple war games. Putin has indicated that he would use nuclear weapons if nato gets involved. Ukraine cannot win with weapons alone. And globohomo will not risk nuclear conflict ( and all their power ) over Ukraine.
>Ukraine cannot win with weapons alone.
