Was in 9th grade in a suburb about 12 miles from ground zero. Didn't understand the gravity of the situation until I got signed out of school and saw it on the t.v at home. A janitor knocked on our classroom door and told our teacher "a plane just hit the towers". When I heard a plane hit I assumed it was a small single engine plane and definitely an accident. As a child. We did not much of the gory bits. People jumping from towers were not shown landing on tv.
So in America. Seeing a building full of people get smashed is legitimately triggering. Each person lost is a entire city without a baker, doctor or homeless bum who was a part of this country.
