Texas could not survive as a sovereign state. If you took away all the federal subsidies the receive for farming, fossil fuels and defense contracts their GDP would tank. Nobody there would want to pay a dollar in taxes for their infrastructure - which would be worse than their dilapidated power grid.
Without Federal dollars it would become a 3rd world country overnight - like corporate America would even stay.
