Any Forums is just Any Forums pretending to have had some argument for something at some point. It was always shit, but once it hit the mainstream with 2016 it got way worse. After 2020 it was completely unsalvageable. I drop in occassionally to check global news or just to see what the current obsession is. Once everybody started thinking their posts were the most important thing in the world and every reply was an exponential increase of their influence, no hope remained.

My filter is pretty generous. Only 67 threads are filtered. Still 90% that remain is crap.
Reporting threads doesn't make a difference. There is no response in any way to it. There was a short period (2018?) where nearly instantly derailing threads were deleted. Looks like there was once a mod that at least tried.

No, they don't get deleted. Their are not enough attention grabbing enough and jump instantly to page 10. A thread without replies is kill on a fast day in just under 10 minutes. Not enough time to write a well versed opinion about it and inserting some related links.
