Another one for fun. In August 1996 NASA announced they had discovered evidence for life on Mars. It was a huge deal for a month and then everyone, including NASA apparently, forgot.

They had that technology but they can't do it again
It was based on the organized look of what appeared to be an insect-like exoskeleton, but this was later disproven since the same pattern could be explained by emergent liquid resonance patterns alone. Perhaps that’s what led to life, but it’s certainly not proof of life on mars.
