Unfortunately, neither those on pro-Ukrainian nor pro-Russian side are interested in asking even the simplest question about the logic behind many of the claims. One such example is currently ongoing fight over the incident where Russians dropped a bomb on Mariupol Drama Theatre. Pro-Russian side started posting a tweet (Twitter message) by some Elena Evdokimova, allegedly in contact with locals in Mariupol. She claims that locals from Mariupol have been passing stories of Azov battalion rounding up women, children and elderly and putting them in the Theatre with intention to blow it up. Tweet is dated on March 13, which the pro-Russian side cites as the major proof this is both real tweet and that this really happened, thus “turning the table” of the whole narrative. Unfortunately for them, there are several issues that just don’t make any bloody sense – first, I could hardly imagine the soldiers doing any “rounding up” for some false flag PR stunt, when the city is not only surrounded, but is constantly probed with armoured attacks and under aerial and artillery strikes. But it does remind me of another instance similar to this – Nevzorov’s film “Chistilishche” (Purgatory) in which the “naughty” Chechens are crucifying “poor, innocent” Russian soldier. And this is happening during First Chechen War, assault on Grozny, Russians are actually attacking the hospital in which this “crucifixion” is happening. Maybe some of those evacuees told her that? But they got out only yesterday. Just how much this resembles the situation, surrounding the bombing of the maternity ward in the very same Mariupol, I will leave for the reader to decide.
