Their cockpits have ballistic computers which can calculate where the rockets are gonna land when fired at an angle.
And now reality, they're just dumping ammo and some flares and going back to base claiming they did their job.
Helicopters are flying coffins in this day and age. There's only so many flares you can spam and flares are garbage versus modern heat seeking sensors. They probably want to GTFO as fast as possible.

they dont really care, your right about that, and they are scared, thats true too. But i think what you miss is that the boss (whoever their boss is) doesnt really give a fuck either. They dont care where the rockets lands, they are literally just firing into cities, blowing shit up and making chaos. And that is all part of the strategy the russians have for pacifying resistance areas.

I have tried to make threads logically explaining what the russians are doing, but no one here wants an actual discussion. It takes a couple of blog posts to even break it down into its simplest terms. I get called names, or not even any replies at all!

to understand whats happening you need to read some history. you need to understand chechnya and afgahnistan from a russian military perspective. this is where current russian military doctrine was formulated surrounding insurgencies.

anyways. i doesnt matter where the rockets/bombs/missiles land. its nice if they destroy a military target, and they will certainly target them. but they also want a certain degree of chaos. they want civilians to be in fear, they want them to flee, they want to smash shit up and start fires. its all part of the plan.

The only way to protect against stingers is to constantly be popping flares.
Even if they have sensors that automatically pop flares once the missile is fired that's not good enough to fool a modern heat seeking sensor every time.
You could still get BTFO'd. It's better to preemptively pop flares to make it harder for the stinger to lock you.
But you only have a limited number of flares so you're fucked nonetheless. This is why they want to return as fast as possible.
