Few, if any, nations truly have the skill, manpower and infrastructure for a real, long protracted war with relatively equal technological standing. We've had it too good for too long. Our generals are untested or idiots, our officers worse. Their is no culture for war, bloodlust and conquest amongst the people/enlisted. The economies of all developed and developing nations have been mostly geared towards consumer production.
If this thing drags on for a few years and everyone involved, or whoever gets involved, keep investing deeper into it, all that will necessarily change and turn this scuffle into a some real shit to write books about.
