Because if you actually need to use it you go bankrupt. If you’re born in a home birth and never touch a hospital or doctor for any reason ever then the American system is better. If at any point you have a serious bone breakage, major ligament tear, get fucked up by a car, get cancer, get shot, have a heart attack etc, in your 85 years of life, then the Euro system pays for itself

You say that Europe overwhelms their systems and maybe that's true, but there might be a solution to that. I'm not in the medical field so I don't know. I'm not for socialized medicine but I think it could work on a smaller scale

Decided to ditch insurance after she went a year without a heart attack and are 7 years into betting she won’t have another before she’s on Medicare
>fast forward to last year, she’s 61 now, life insurance won’t cover her because she refuses to take the clot shot
>if she takes the clot shot, they won’t start her coverage until an “evaluation period” one month after 2nd dose
>they literally want to see if she dies from the vax before they’re willing to cover her, although they won’t cover her at all without it

Except we have to pay property and income tax in addition to being legally required to carry some form of insurance for both your health and car, if you can't or don't fines may apply.
