When I was up in Michigan in the GR/Muskegon area I spent damn near the whole vacation swimming in Lake Michigan. Then I went hunting on my wife's Grandfather's land. If I ever moved up north Michigan is where I would go.

Grew up on the west side of the state. Some of my most cherish memories are in Lake Michigan.. There are some monsters in that DMU, but CWD is starting to fuck up the area. Sad. You should def go back soon.

Chimney rock is fun, Mount Mitchell is OK too but only if it isn't cloudy (tough luck).

Personally I would cut through West Virginia 77 to 64 and take that crazy long mountain toll road. It goes through multiple tunnels and is one hell of a scenic drive. If you have a sporty car you can blast through the tunnels.

We're actually heading up there this summer. I'm looking forward to it.

Try to go during Christmas and take the night tour. Biltmore only does night tours during the holidays and it's so much better than the day tour.
