Everyone here is always talking about how much they either love their people or hate the current state of western culture. So why not create a thread where you can promote your people, culture and achievements to the world (or at least the piece of it that lurks in Any Forums)?
>rules
-The idea of the thread is to promote your culture and folk, shit talking others doesnt get you any points
-No need to focus on the negative aspects of your people, we are here to relax
-you can define your people tbe way you want,as long as you can show evidence of such identity (claiming to be hyperborean or aryan just cringe)
>my people
I am a proud Carioca ( person born in Rio's metropoli) and current live in the metropolitan area of Rio, despite living years in the "great lakes" region at the north east of the state.
My people can be divided into three categories, but remember that i am from a Romance/Latino country. In this type of country, your identity is setermined by region first, lineage second (unlike germanic societies).
My ancestors are mostly Portuguese (79%), spanish(11%) and african(10%). Thank god i wasnt born as "la creatura". My ethnic group is part of the portuguese enclave from Rio, but the Praxis group is the Carioca as it has a well fundamented history, culture and territory. My national identity is Brazilian, but, despite all the efforts from the federation, "brazilian still means too little compared to regional identity.

muh gold
This a complicated topic because brazilians reee against portuguese for the loss of gold, conveniently forgetting that we were one nation under one king at that time. Truth is we used it to build acheducts, more ports and ships, more beautiful churches and actually set up institutions like the Royal Library, the Royal Arsenal and the Royal Opera House.
Skipping alittle but after the the local elite and municipality is already formed, Rio was still acting as the merchants port. But thestthe Portuguese royalty decided to flee/ strategicalky retraet to the colonies aftwe Napoleons invasion.
We were the first, the only and the last city-state in the americas to Rule over eurolands and african lands ( as the empire ofdicially transfered the capital and 500 hundred court members to Rio)
>my people
Latvian.
One interesting thing about us is that there are no swear words in Latvian. Not due to people being incredibly kind, although that too applies, but due to the fact that there is no culture of censorship as it exists in the West or East. The only way anyone can get any swear-words to use is by simply stealing them from other languages.

Jesus was a Balt.
Newfoundland/Newfoundlandlander.
Old world stock people ~ 1700s English/Irish or some French in there in places.
We were our own Dominion of Britian until 1949... we were sold to Canada... womp womp...
>Newfoundlander
Lord.
Youre forgetting the portuguese colonies in new foundland
Thats actually very interesting, words only have the power we give them, so if no one punishes you for saying nigger ,then saying nigger isnt really that important
>we were sold to Canada
Elaborate.
What was the reasoning?
>Thats actually very interesting, words only have the power we give them, so if no one punishes you for saying nigger ,then saying nigger isnt really that important.
What is interesting in the matter is that people did insult each other in the past, but that was done through folk song rather than by relying on dropping as much of a specific keyword like "shit", "ass" or "pussy" as fags do today. And really when you think about it, it should really be pretty self-evident that you can't really hurt anyone by simply reciting a dictionary. What can hurt them however is telling them the truth.
I would like to add somethi g about our culture:
Cariocas have lots of traditions that came from catholicism and even more that came from the settlers.
The "Tapete de Sal" (salt carpet) is (dying) beatiful traditionwoth very intrinsic detailed drawings of christianity (mlstly jesus, saints, the city symbols and etc) made of colored raw-salt.
Its usually made on the road and there isalways a festival filled qith food abnd balloons around it.
Other traditional festival is the "Festa Junina" that happens in the month of June to comemorate Saint Georges victory over the Dragon of Anatolia.
There are usually crackers, fireworks and big ass baloons (the ones that causes incendiary incidents) that carry "holy banners".
>Singing a song to trash talk others
Our ancestors called it "Trova", a music style usually song by bards that would range from love confessions, gossip, straight out insults or displays of grief.
>salt paintings
Would be nice if you could post some.
In our case it is not necessarily a song per-se, although it obviously very much can be if you so choose. In our case it can simply be reciting a few verses. And the thing about the folk songs they are reciting is that everyone knows them, them being so many and yet so deeply ingrained into our consciousness is the reason why in the UNESCO world heritage list for Latvia you find a closet.
en.wikipedia.org
And it might seem like "oh, 150,000 songs, that's nice" but it should be noted that everyone knows them. With versions specific to distinct regions still being very similar. Or, at least they used to, as people are in the modern day forgetting them more and more.
The beach is very important to carioca societiez. Expressions, mannerisms, definition of classes, holidays and passtimes with friends will mostly have coonnevtion to it.
The beach has that social importance because, living neat it means good social status and most areas around it are highly developed.
Festivals, soccer, barbeque, the beach literally is a place for all of this ( and yes, we have shitty poluted beaches as well as paradisiac ultra-preserved ones).
Surfing is seen as cool/play boy sport while soccer, peteca (hand badminton) and volley are very common according to each generation.
Most beaches will have quiosques with at least one of these traditional drinks: Caipirinha, Cachaça , coco-vodka or the yellow one i forgot the name. Beer is highly consumed as well
In new years eve lots of people will jumo the waves 7 times as a superstition for good luck and prosperity for the next year.
I'm an Anglo. Simple as.
Don't defend the Spanish. Their retarded mercantilism is the reason they are a dirthole now.
Here you go latvian bro
>complexity
The older the local cathedral is the better are the artists that volunteer for the works
Ive seen beautiful detailed and shaded orthodox jesus christ made with salt
>Or, at least they used to, as people are in the modern day forgetting them more and more.
Lots of dances, myths, and forms of art ( as the gigantic olinda dolls, Salt Carpets and Baloons) are also dying here.
Globalization is a double edged sword as it helped our economy grow bjt killed lots of other areas in our daily lives
No matter what shit hole countries think, US is the greatest country on the planet
1. Euro faggots, can you fight Russia alone? Exactly
2. South America, I have seen Latin culture and the women are whores. The Latin dances are disgusting. Premarital sex at a young age is normal
3. Middle East, how are you fuckers still stuck in the stone age. Respond without blaming them
And the folk songs really go into pretty much every single aspect of life.
There are folk songs about love, folk songs about going off to war, folk songs about being injured, there are folk songs about being out at sea and there folk songs for explaining that "no user, that is your sister, if you try to impregnate her I will fucking end you". Each folk song has its own unique number attributed to it as a result of the cataloguing of it, so you can if you so desire find one by its number. Can't remember the name of the site you could use to find them by their ID.
That's are Nige.
>cia kike sees a thread praising culture and tradition
>Comes here to do exactly the oposite of what the thread was intended to
>porceed to not even promote his own culture
( promoting Chanuka would destroy his shilling efforts afterall)
>culture is made of watching niggerball and paying debts to kikes
Data
True
Great. Can you post anything about your people?
Portuguese pretty much bullied out of here back in the day. Newfoundland is mainly English/Irish or French and a mix of the prior.
Basically had a vote to join Canada in 1949 (Confederation). Was a vote... 51 to 49... lovely.
That is interesting. Do you have pictures of this? Lots of our older traditions have been destroyed by industrial society/cultural marxism/globalism.
>weirdly specific folk songs
Ill leave that to northeastern and midwestern brazilians astthat is very common in their culture
