no one knows. if you want answers to questions no human knows then develop a strong desire every day to be visited in your dreams by an entity that does. it'll take some time, but if you keep it in your thoughts and really want it to happen then it will happen. just make sure you know what you want to ask and be kind and considerate.

Someone will come to you and you both will have a conversation. You'll know when it's the real thing. You'll be completely lucid and in another place. For me it was a diner and outside the windows was indescribable. I wasted time in a friendly and respectful debate that he was a figment of my imagination until he suggested that I just talk to him. He answered my questions and it was a very polite conversation. He also asked me questions. I asked him at the end how I would know he was real and he said I'd see him again in the world you and I are in right now. He gave me a very specific name and a trait. About ten years later I saw him, he had the same name and the same very odd and specific characteristic.
