No, it’s a total scam. A Tesla weighs about a ton more than the average car. That means you’re moving an extra ton around with you every where you go. How is that going to save energy? Not to mention you need to melt down. ton of extra material to manufacture the thing. It’s a total scam.

no, but it's easier to implement pollution reduction and efficiency measures in a few hundred huge concentrated powerplants than it is several tens of millions of cars. it'd also (hopefully) let us save petroleum products for the things we don't have other options for yet like fertilizers and plastics instead of literally burning them up.
