Obamacare created government subsidized health plans for poor people. If you are above the poverty level for you and your dependents, you choose from several health plans that are no more expensive than the ones you would get via employment at your salary level. If you're below the poverty level then guess what? You qualify for a whole shitload of health coverage discounts and can get a silver level plan for far cheaper than the general public.

No it isn't. Most other nations that have single payer health care systems build the taxes for health services into your income taxes. The common top level percentages are in pic_related. While some of the income tax in the US does go to pay for elder care programs like medicare and medicaid, for average people and families the amount they pay towards their own health coverage is 0%. The average income tax rate in the United States is 22.4%. If we were to follow a European model the average would bump up much higher. Everyone envisions "the rich" being made to pay for it, but that of course will never become the reality for many reasons I don't feel I have to even explain. The burden will be shouldered by the average consumer, and while I don't have ANY love for (((health insurance companies))) at all, or the rigged system they've used overreaching socialist regulatory elements in our government to legislate in their favor, when faced with the idea of paying a private company for coverage vs. paying the government via income taxes and having the government solely in charge of my health care I would pick the company 10 out of 10 times. Anyone who has ever worked directly with government agencies and stared into the abyss would as well.

The effect is made worse by having employers "pay" for health insurance (the worker is still paying for it).
If there was no health insurance, most doctors would have to lower their prices or go out of business.

This is the ultimate conclusion to draw. In a 100% ethnically homogeneous society with a shared identity, culture, ethos, etc. it isn't hard getting people to buy into socialist systems, especially health care.
