This isn't a military airport, it was landed and Ukrainian reserves based in the capital counter attacked at night, liberated most of the airfield by morning, fell back from it due to advancing convoy from the north by night.

Check the runway footage I posted, the speaker is Ukrainian and on the runway. They tried to land forces, counter attack at night fucked the runway up and what equipment was landed, above are some pictures of the VDV paratroopers dead (notice their st george stripes).
They don't own the runway anymore though, there is RT footage of that same spot as my footage cleared of destroyed equipment, they fell back at noon or night the same day they finished recapturing it in the morning due to being highly vulnerable from the north.
