Why are traffic rules so fucking retarded? Compare these two pictures. Both show a roundabout. Both have a traffic light and then a few meters later a yield sign. In one of them you're supposed to pass the green light, then yield to the traffic in the roundabout a few meters later. In the other you're supposed to ignore the yield sign because you have green light and the traffic in the roundabout have red light. How the fuck are you supposed to tell?

I fucking loathe roundabouts. I live in a wintry state and they always ice over/are plowed incorrectly.

Haven't noticed that but a few weeks ago I skid like 2 meters or something in a roundabout, my car went from the inner lane to halfway into the outer lane. Luckily the car that was close behind me in the outer lane exited a second before I skid. I probably should buy better tires. If I still have this car next winter I will but winter is pretty much over now and I'm not sure this car will last until next winter.

bump

Get blizzaks. My set has lasted an eternity and it saves you the hassle of switching them out for winter.

we dont have traffic lights in front of roundabouts in my country, seems like a Sweden problem

What if you have a crosswalk right before the crosswalk? Yeah I'm sure the traffic rules of your country are all very great and clever.

*right before the roundabout

The traffic light is obviously for the zebra crossing.
You always yield into a roundabout (and the rules are very simple - it's just a road that goes in a circle). Roundabouts are the best thing EVER (for low to medium traffic roads).

crosswalks are simply not near roundabots.

The main advantage of roundabout is speeding up traffic at crossroads where it would be slowed down by a traffic light.

Traffic light and roundabout together doesnt make a lot of sense.

Learn to read retard

It's retarded to have traffic lights in or surrounding roundabouts. What's the fucking point then?

Never seen it here.

>Traffic light and roundabout together doesnt make a lot of sense.
These are human activated lights (so it could be rare).

They are the best thing ever if your area isn't populated by mouthreathers that treat them as either a 4 way stop or a thoroughfare. New Hampshire forces these things everywhere and the population is too braindead to grasp how to use them effectively so they end up being worse than traffic lights.

You are not supposed to ignore the yield sign in any of those...

We normally only have it when there is a crosswalk. But in the first picture it's not just for the crosswalk. Anyway this is just one of several things I have found about traffic rules that are less than ideal. The roundabout in the first pic is a little special because parts of it has 3 lanes.

The first one is not a proper roundabout, it is just a road that goes in a circle. Hint: there is no roundabout sign.
The second one is a proper roundabout, with a traffic light for pedestrians. Hint: there is a roundabout sign.

The yield sign may be just in case the lights don't work. It looks like one of those British-style roundabouts that is just a circle of intersections with traffic lights rather than a true roundabout.

Yeah you are. The first pic if you have green light it means the traffic in the roundabout has red light and you have right of way, as I already said. We have a thing where a yield or stop sign can be on the same pole as the traffic light and then it means you follow that if the traffic light is out of order, either blinking yellow or has no light at all. But in both of these pics the yield sign is a few meters after the traffic light.

It exists here too some places. The two lower ones in pic have them (western Norway). It's not really that much of a problem as they are activated by people passing and it's not that often (but better to have a tunnel or overpass).

Doesn't matter, because both have a yield sign.

You are always supposed to yield to drivers already in the roundabout. The red light is for the pedestrian crossing. If you could not understand this, please cancel your driver's license.

No dumbass, as I said, the first pic you are not supposed to yield if you have green light.

That's because the first isn't a roundabout

>The first pic if you have green light it means the traffic in the roundabout has red light and you have right of way
You must ALWAYS yield into a roundabout no matter what. The ones already in the roundabout have the right of way.

As I already said, doesn't matter, both have a yield sign.
fuck off retard

Yeah, doesn't look like it in pic.
Also, OP should lose his driving license.

You clearly shouldn't be allowed to drive.

>there is no roundabout sign

It does matter.
It is hard to tell for sure, but the first one has the yield sign because the left lane goes into the one lane coming from the left. The right lane has no yield, because it is not intersectin another lane, it just goes right on its own, no need to yield.
Second one is a proper roundabout, both lanes have to yield for the traffic in the roundabout. The yield sign is not really necessary, but it is there to remind retards.

What you are failing to understand here. Is that this is designed in a way that always puts the driver trying to get into the round about at fault
>pedestrian crossing , gets hit, it's the drivers fault
>car collision in round about , it's the fault of the person who enters
It's a shit system that only works well in ultra low density areas with no pedestrians

right turn on red is based

"You are not supposed to yield", in your socialist low IQ brain, you are confused because you would not have to yield if the other person's light is red. But you should not assume that the light is red for them. One day they could program it so that they are both green (essentially disabling the red light inside the roundabout). Still, you have to yield.

The only reason you are confused is your low IQ. In a roundabout ANY vehicles already inside the roundabout has the right of way ALWAYS and any vehicle attempting to enter the roundabout MUST ALWAYS yield to ANY vehicle inside. The yield signs are redundant and dont nwed to be there in either picture but we have morons like you. In both scenarios you would yield to vehicles already in the roundabout.
You are confused because the 2nd picture the roundabout has a light in it but that doesnt change anything, any vehicle ahead of that light when it's red you yield to and any vehicle stopped at that light already while it's red you do not yield to because they are stopped at a fucking red light. Maybe go read what the term yield actually fucking means you mongoloid.
This is coming from an american that lives in NYC where we have almost NO roundabouts anywhere at all and the 1 or 2 we have are death traps because most people are single digit IQ. It's so fucking painful to watch you idiots struggle with such a simple concept
