Two weeks ago our biggest concern was a severe demographic crisis and ageing society, also incelism was a serious problem, especially in rural areas where it started to become common that in whole villages there was not even one young girl. Suddenly we got 1.5 million young Ukrainian women and children and the number is expected to rise to 5 million (around 15% of our current population). Schools closed down due to lack of children are being opened for refugee kids. Long-abandoned houses are given second life to house the new dwellers.

Very close, grammar is basically the same, vocabulary is largely similar, pronunciation is quite different but it takes rather little time to learn Polish for a Ukrainian person.

Even if only 10% of 5 million remains here it will be still a huge boost for our female population. The refugees are almost exclusively young women and children.

Ukrainians are the same people like us, they're only poor because of Russia. When settled down in a country without Russian influence they are very good workers and contribute a lot. Look at Canada, Ukrainians literally built whole Manitoba and Saskatchewan and these are like one of the richest regions in the world.

In 1989, Ukraine's GDP per capita was 10 percent higher than Russia's according to old Soviet statistics. Today, Russia's GDP per capita at current prices and exchange rates is about three times higher. Poland has risen even faster. The pension of residents of Crimea, for example, is noticeably higher at the Russian level than what pensioners got when Crimea was Ukrainian. And in contrast to Ukraine, this pension is actually paid regularly. The same can generally be said of the standard of living in Russia compared to Ukraine. If you're going to bash Putin and Russia, then you should at least have an idea of what you're talking about. Ukraine was bailed out by the International Monetary Fund. In 2012 Ernst & Young put Ukraine among the three most-corrupt nations of the world, alongside Colombia and Brazil. Some call it "the most corrupt nation in Europe". According to Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index, the Ukraine ranked 122nd out of 180 countries in 2021, the second most corrupt in Europe, ahead of Russia.
